The following guide may contain spoilers for the main Peaky Blinders series and the movie The Immortal Man.
Peaky Blinders will return to Netflix for a new sequel series, but so far little is known about the next installment.
That doesn't mean there's nothing to be excited about, though. In June 2026, Tudum confirmed that some huge names were joining the cast, so I'm sure it will be just as impressive as the original Peaky Blinders series and its follow-up movie, The Immortal Man, the latter of which received a 90% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, our entertainment writer Jasmine Valentine noted that The Immortal Man's ending might pose some problems when it comes to the new sequel series. We'll get into that later on.
Here's everything we know about the Peaky Blinders sequel series so far.

The Peaky Blinders sequel will follow the original series and the feature-length film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, that’s streaming now on Netflix. So you can watch these while you wait for the new episodes, if you like.
Speaking of the show's return, creator Steven Knight told Tudum: “Once again it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride.”

Despite not having a release date, trailer, or name, we do know that some major stars are joining the line-up.
Half Man's Jamie Bell and Stranger Things' Charlie Heaton will star as Duke and Charles Shelby, two half-brothers and the sons of the now deceased Tommy Shelby. Charles severed all ties to the Peaky Blinders gang, but something tells me he won't be able to get out completely.
Elsewhere, Conleth Hill joins as Clemmy Keeler, the fierce patriarch of the rival Keeler family. Cal O’Driscoll plays Clemmy’s son, Aidan Keeler, and Daniel Monks plays Detective Inspector Bell.
This great selection of stars joins previously announced cast members Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski.

We can expect new opportunities, jeopardy, and ambitions when Peaky Blinders returns, even though we won't be focusing on the series' icon, Tommy Shelby, anymore. I'm excited already.
- Valve releases Windows 11 drivers for the Steam Machine
- This means you can install Windows 11 on the console-like PC
- You probably shouldn't, though
Valve has released official Windows drivers which should mean anyone who wants to install Windows 11 on its Steam Machine compact PC will be able to do so.
However, I and many other PC gamers have been left wondering why you’d want to do that — and it’s not just because of a general dislike of Microsoft’s operating system.
Of course, Windows 11 does have its issues, with a worrying increase in bugs and performance-damaging problems. It’s also bloated, and filled with AI features that few people, especially gamers, seem to want.
So, installing it on a device designed to run a more lightweight Linux operating system is a baffling choice. Much has been made of Valve’s decisions (some of them taken because of the global memory shortage and high component prices) to fit the Steam Machine with rather underpowered hardware. There’s no dedicated GPU, just an integrated one that uses older AMD technology and 16GB of DDR5 single-channel RAM.
Those are pretty poor specs for a gaming PC, and while some of this is outside of Valve’s control, at least SteamOS, the Linux-based operating system that the Steam Machine runs on by default, is a lot more lightweight than Windows 11, and is streamlined to prioritize launching and playing games. This means it can offer better performance
Windows 11, on the other hand, is a much bigger, and some would say rather bloated, operating system that runs on a variety of different hardware, with people using it for different things, not just playing games. This means performance is often worse even if the same low-powered components are used.
So, putting Windows 11 on a Steam Machine means you’ll likely get poorer performance, and Windows 11’s interface isn’t designed to be used on a TV with a controller, unlike SteamOS’ Big Picture Mode interface. You can use Steam Big Picture Mode in Windows 11, of course, and Microsoft has been working on a similar console-like interface with its Xbox mode, but it’s not perfect.
Why would you do this?So, why would anyone in their right mind installing Windows 11 on a Steam Machine, especially as it seems Valve hasn’t implemented dual-booting (so you can pick between Windows 11 and SteamOS when you turn the machine on, hopefully that comes later)?
Well, while SteamOS is designed for a console-like simplicity, for a lot of mainstream users, Windows 11 will be more user-friendly (if you’ve ever had to troubleshoot an issue with Linux, you’ll know it’s not for the faint of heart). If you’re planning to use the Steam Machine as a standard PC (which Valve says you can do), then installing Windows 11 kind of makes sense. Kind of.
(Image credit: Valve)SteamOS is also essentially Linux with the Steam store as the interface, and that makes playing and buying games through Steam very easy. But for playing games from other stores, such as Epic Games Store, GOG and even Xbox, it’s a bit more of a faff. You can install Linux or open source versions of those launchers and add them as non-Steam games, but it’s again fiddly and more complicated than with Windows 11.
Finally, if you play a lot of online multiplayer games, such as Fortnite, that use anti-cheat software, you might have no option but to play those games in Windows 11, as many anti-cheat tools don’t support Linux, and therefore can’t be played by default on the Steam Machine.
Why you shouldn’t do thisHowever, I still feel on the whole you just should do this, and not just because of Microsoft’s OS being unsuitable; Valve should take some blame as well.
As WCCFTech reports, because there’s currently no way to dual boot these operating systems, installing Windows 11 on the Steam Machine will overwrite SteamOS, so if you find Windows isn’t working well, it’s more of a pain to switch back to SteamOS.
As some commentators on WCCFTech’s article also point out, Valve doesn’t have a great reputation when it comes to supporting Windows drivers with its Steam devices, with the Steam Deck being a prime example. Valve’s handheld also runs SteamOS and you can install Windows 11 on it, but Valve has been pretty poor at updating its drivers, with one claiming people are still having to rely on graphics and sound drivers that are two years old.
Needless to say, playing with outdated drivers is not going to be enjoyable. In better news, Valve has also made having to use Windows 11 less necessary for a lot of games by continually updating its Proton compatibility layer, which allows you to run Windows 11 games in Linux, rather than having to wait for a Linux port of the game (which rarely comes due to the discrepancies in user numbers for the two platforms).
As Neowin reports, Valve has updated Proton to support even more games than ever. It’s a brilliant tool that means there’s less need to use Windows 11 with the Steam Machine or Steam Deck.
So, while I do applaud Valve for giving users the option, as it helps show how open the Steam Machine, and gaming PCs in general, can be, I think Valve has also made this option pretty pointless, for both good and bad reasons.

Netflix free trials are making a comeback — sort of. More than six years after time was called on its beloved 30-day free trial offer, users could soon be able to try out the world's best streaming service free of charge once more.
According to What's on Netflix, the streaming juggernaut is not only exploring whether to reintroduce its 'try before you buy' offer, but also actively testing its return in some world regions. When asked for comment, a spokesperson simply told the aforementioned website: "We regularly test promotions to help prospective members experience the value of Netflix."
Perhaps unsurprisingly, there are caveats. For starters, the US and UK aren't among the nations in which this experiment is being conducted. Considering that these countries are two of Netflix's biggest markets, I'm surprised that those in charge aren't trying to entice prospective new users by testing its free trial period on both sides of the Atlantic.
Speaking of new users, Netflix is only said to be offering a free trial to those who haven't previously signed up to the platform. Furthermore, What's on Netflix understands that these free trial periods vary in length depending on where you live. (Update: What's on Netflix has now suggested that people are being offered seven day, 14-day, and 30-day trials).

As of January 2026, the entertainment giant's worldwide userbase stood at a staggering 325 million (per Yahoo Finance). That's almost 130 million more active subscribers than the 195.7 million combined total of Disney's two streamers in Disney+ and Hulu, and over 100 million more than Prime Video's estimated install base.
Nonetheless, Netflix has hit something of a road block in the battle to attract new users and keep them hooked on its offerings.
Per a recent Bloomberg report, the amount of time that Netflix fans spent watching its vast suite of content grew by less than 2%. The same article also indicates that Netflix has only had two major TV hits on its hands this year — those being His & Hers and Bridgerton season 4. The streamer has since chalked up another TV Original win in the form of I Will Find You, but the aforementioned Bloomberg piece was published prior to I Will Find You's viewership data becoming publicly available.
Bloomberg's report doesn't dig into the movie side of things, but Netflix has also similarly struggled to deliver unmissable original films. Indeed, barring sci-fi action movie War Machine, family-friendly animated flick Swapped, crime drama The RIP, and survival thriller Apex, Netflix can't point to its movie division as proof that it's still firing on all cylinders.
With returning shows like Avatar: The Last Airbender, Beef, One Piece, and The Night Agent, as well as new movies including Enola Holmes 3, failing to do big numbers, Netflix's 2026 lineup clearly hasn't done enough (thus far, anyway) to entertain the masses. Throw in sliding share prices after Netflix lost out to Paramount Skydance in the fight to try and buy Warner Bros, and it's little surprise to learn that fearful Netflix investors are putting the pressure on executives to arrest this downturn in fortunes.
What better way is there, then, then by luring in potential new users by giving them a chance to try Netflix for free, especially in countries where user retention might not be as high as it is elsewhere?
Well, Netflix could actually do the unthinkable, and reduce the cost of a monthly membership rather than jacking up the price every year — but Hell is likely to freeze over before that happens. So, revisiting its free trial offer, and re-rolling it out in certain territories might be the one and only option available to the streaming titan if it wants to maintain its position as top dog.

Sony: big name in the wireless audio space, with the WH-1000XM6 headphones getting rave reviews from us, but not so much of a player in the wired headphone game.
Sony gets nary a mention in our best wired headphones list and to be honest, the company's most recent wireless earbuds (see the Sony WF-1000XM6) and open-fit offerings haven't gone straight to the top of the pile either.
Given that the company is basically single-handedly keeping the headphone jack alive in smartphones, though, it makes sense that this could change. Enter the Sony IER-M500, new wired buds from the company.
These are the most premium wired earbuds Sony sells right now, going for £99 (about $130, AU$200), which is at least twice the cost of the few other cable-toting buds it sells. That'll be small fry to audiophiles, where IEMs can cost thousands, but still, it's big money for Sony in this particular space. Their chief competition might be something like the Shure SE215.
And there's a solid reason for the price hike: these aren't your everyday IEMs (or in-ear monitors). Sony says this particular model is meant to "elevate stage performance experiences" and is aimed at "a wide range of performers, from aspiring musicians to professionals". So basically, they're not for everyone.
For most people then, Sony's cheaper wired buds like the funky pink IER-EX15C or big-driver MDR-EX650AP might be better to buy, but certain people might find the IER-M500 is just what they're after.
Monitor this(Image credit: Sony)As with most other IEMs, the IER-M500 consist of a small in-ear bud which connects to a 1.6m cable, and this ends in a 3.5mm jack.
The earpiece is clearly designed for fit (while your guitar gently weeps, and so on). Each bud has a "fitting supporter" to keep it lodged in the ear, and they have a "thin polyurethane wall" to block out some background sound. In Sony's announcement press release, said fit enhancements were described before any sonic specs.
They come in clear, black or red-blue, choices which Sony says are designed to "complement your onstage outfit", which is one of the reasons (along with their still-affordable price) I'd say these are targeted at new musicians, rather than seasoned professionals.
Sony also makes a point of describing how they'll survive extended use, without the constant plugging and unplugging of the buds wearing them down.
In terms of audio itself, the buds have a 5mm driver, with an acoustic chamber designed to create controlled bass. The frequency response is 10Hz-40kHz and there's a 16-ohm impedance.
Sony has made IEMs before with some, like the IER-M9, costing over ten times as much. But with wired earbuds making a comeback, it seems that the company has decided now is the perfect time to offer some affordable ones.

All the latest data points to a worsening situation for PC makers in the coming years, with global PC shipments falling 4.9% year-over-year in the second quarter of 2026 per IDC data, or down 3.6% per Canalys.
While the two differ on total volumes due to tracking differences, both firms agree the market is shrinking as a result of soaring memory prices and other cost increases.
Market researchers now broadly agree that AI-driven demand for memory chips could create shortages that continue for months, or even years, impacting the consumer device end of the market as data centers bid to pay over the odds for chips.
Global PC market starts to shrinkLenovo, HP and Dell all saw global shipment volumes drop by 2.1% to 9% during the most recent three-month period, with Asus barely tipping into the positives at 0.2-0.9% up. Apple was the only major manufacturer to see any considerable shipment increases, tracked at 10.1-15.9% depending on the source.
IDC credited its success to the launch of the MacBook Neo, however even Apple was forced to raise prices pretty considerably across the board after failing to absorb component cost increases with previous pricing. The MacBook Neo was hit with a $100 increase (a 14-17% increase), with MacBook Pro buyers forced to pay an additional $300 (up 18%).
"After the pull-forward activity seen in the first half of the year, signals are now pointing to a period of delayed demand as the true impact of the supply crunch sinks in,” said Omdia Research Director Ishan Dutt wrote.
"Given worsening macro conditions and a memory shortage that isn’t expected to ease until early 2028, we don’t expect another round of inventory pull-forward, which points to a sharp slowdown in growth rates in the second half of 2026," IDC research director for consumer devices Jitesh Ubrani added.
Given the pressure that NHS doctors are under, it’s no surprise that many trusts are turning to AI for help. On the whole, this is a good thing.
AI tools can play a valuable role in managing workflows, automating documentation, coordinating care rotas and streamlining communications.
However, the pace of AI development, and generative AI in particular, has accelerated dramatically.
As a result, governance frameworks are failing to keep pace with frontline demand and healthcare practitioners have begun to use tools that have not been authorized by their organisation.
This is causing problems at all levels - particularly when those tools are used to support clinical decision-making.
AI in the shadows“Shadow AI” is a term commonly used to describe the unauthorized use of AI within organizations. While the phenomenon exists across all industries, it has been growing rapidly in healthcare. One recent US survey revealed that 17% of healthcare workers admitted to using unauthorized AI tools in the workplace.
A another survey found that 39% of frontline healthcare staff say they use generic, free AI tools weekly or more. These are not isolated experiments. AI is already becoming embedded in day-to-day operations, often without formal governance or oversight, despite well-documented risks including hallucinations, inconsistencies and biases.
The reasons for this are understandable. Healthcare professionals are dealing with staff shortages, rising patient demand and overwhelming administrative workloads. Clinicians are expected to document more, communicate faster and process growing volumes of information - all while maintaining high standards of patient care.
It’s not surprising that they are reaching for the nearest AI tool. Particularly when that AI tool is extremely accessible, free or low-cost and easy to use. Shadow AI usage in the healthcare sector currently ranges from frontline clinicians right through to back office functions such as report drafting and recruitment support.
Most health professionals using “shadow” tools are not deliberately flouting rules, therefore. They are simply accessing some much-needed help from a convenient source. And their employer is not providing them with a robust alternative.
Healthcare leaders need to act quicklyMedical organizations, and the NHS in particular, have often been cautious to roll out new technologies, though frequently with very good reason. Clinical systems require extensive testing, strong evidence bases and rigorous governance before deployment and decisions supported by AI can have direct consequences for patient outcomes.
Any clinical decision-making tool must therefore be thoroughly tested, based on solid medical research and exist under constant review and improvement. Yet delays allow shadow AI to fill the gap.
AI tools of the right quality are now reaching the market but the problem remains as to how leaders can rein in the use of shadow AI. It’s a problem that must be addressed quickly because the stakes are high.
The risks are realThe risks of unsanctioned AI usage include security breaches and privacy violations as well as the top concern - patient care.
In terms of data security and privacy, generic AI solutions are effectively “black boxes”. Ask ChatGPT whether sensitive health data will be safe in its hands, for example, and it will advise that it does not comply with health information regulations.
This is not surprising - patient information is “special category data” under GDPR and frequently requires additional protection - but it illustrates the danger of submitting too much information into an unauthorized app.
When it comes to patient care, generic AI solutions used to support clinical decision making carry an inherent risk: even when outputs appear credible, errors may be difficult to detect and assess. They may pull information from a broad range of sources which may be outdated, unaccredited or inaccurate.
A clinician in a hurry, referring to an unauthorized tool, is taking a big chance. If an unauthorized tool provides incorrect guidance relating to symptoms, medications, diagnoses or treatment pathways, the consequences could be severe.
Guidance and leadership, not heavy-handed authorityThe answer is not a blanket ban, which is likely to send unauthorized AI further into the shadows. The focus for healthcare leaders must be to establish clear guidelines on the use of AI and to invest in education and training regarding its risks and benefits.
At the same time, organizations need to provide clinically validated, secure and easy to use alternative tools. If approved systems are too slow to deploy or fail to meet operational needs, clinicians and administrators will inevitably continue to turn to unauthorized tools instead.
Governance structures are also an important part of the process. These should include IT teams, security specialists and operational management because AI deployment simultaneously affects patient care, compliance, workforce efficiency and organizational risk.
AI will undoubtedly become an increasingly important part of modern healthcare delivery. The organizations that succeed will not necessarily be those that adopt AI fastest, but which create trusted frameworks on which clinicians can access secure, medically robust and properly governed tools.
